Media Release - The City of Copperas Cove will remain on the Stage 5 Emergency Water Conservation plan through Thursday, July 17, 2014. Bell County Water Control and Improvement District No. 1 (BCWCID No.1) has reported the necessary repairs have been completed. The City is in the process of increasing our water resources and storage. Any customers who have encountered water loss should be restored between now and approximately 6pm this evening. - Residents are asked to continue using available water resources sparingly for matters such as personal consumption and hygiene. - Irrigation of landscaped areas is absolutely prohibited, unless reclaimed water is used. - Use of water to wash any motor or other vehicles is absolutely prohibited. - Local businesses which require water resources to operate are encouraged to continue limiting the use of their water resources as much as possible. Enforcement - Any person who knowingly or intentionally allows the use of water in violation of the City of Copperas Cove’s Water Conservation Plan may be issued a citation by a City of Copperas Cove employee for a Class C Misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of $100 - $1,000. *A Water Boil Notification is also being issued at this same time in a separate release* Updates may be found at either the City of Copperas Cove website at copperascovetx.gov or the City of Copperas Cove Facebook page.
