Media Release: Centre for Road Safety wins prestigious international communication award Transport for NSW has received recognition on the world stage after the Centre for Road Safety’s Safer Drivers Course won an award at the prestigious Clarion Awards evening in London. A video to promote the Safer Drivers Course won the category for best experiential campaign. This category looks for an immersive campaign that connects its audience to the cause being promoted. "It’s an honour and privilege to accept this award on behalf of Transport for NSW," Tim Reardon, Deputy Director General of Transport for NSW said. "Our video was produced with BeLearning and promotes the new Safer Drivers Course for young drivers. "What we have learnt from this video is that there’s nothing better than young people speaking to young people about the issues they face on the road. "The most dangerous time for a young driver is the first six months after they begin driving independently on their P-Plates. "The Safer Drivers Course addresses this high-risk period and provides the practical and theoretical training that will help create a new generation of safer drivers. The Clarion Awards is run by the International Visual Communication Association (IVCA) and is in its 10th year. "The IVCA is Europe’s largest trade association for the producers and commissioners of corporate communication through film, digital media and live events. "The Clarion Awards is one of the UK’s most prestigious awards for the communication of Corporate Social Responsibility, social and ethical debate, diversity and inclusion and humanitarian issues such as health, education, social welfare and safety." British free-to-air television station and Clarion Awards major sponsor The Community Channel will air a program about the event in the coming weeks.
