Media Release First Members of Palmer United Party’s Shadow Cabinet announced Palmer United Party federal leader Clive Palmer, has today announced the first candidates who will take seats on his front bench if the Palmer United Party is elected on September 7. Mr Palmer said as well as leader of the party he will also hold the Foreign Affairs portfolio while Dean Lynch, candidate for Eden Monaro, will hold the Regional Communications and Local Government portfolio. “As the Mayor for Cooma-Monaro Mr Lynch is well versed in regional communities and building relationships as well as in local government,” he said. Mr Palmer said his party is committed to the people of Australia and we will be announcing the remaining members of the Party’s shadow cabinet over the coming weeks. “The remaining 27 portfolio positions are made up of both lower house and senate candidates,” he said. “Many, like Dean Lynch, already have experience in the portfolio they have been chosen to represent and I have full faith and the greatest confidence that their experience and commitment will not disappoint. “The Palmer United Party’s candidates are everyday working Australians; they are not unionists or politically-aligned ring-ins who we have called upon when times get desperate. “They are fair-dinkum Aussies who are passionate about Australia and believe the country deserves better than the current duopoly in Canberra and this is why they have sought out the Palmer United Party.” The Palmer United Party is putting the finishing touches to it’s 150-strong lower house candidates and recently completed its bid to field a candidate in every senate position for the September 7 federal election.
