**********Media Release********** In cooperation with the Nash County Sheriff’s Office, the Edgecombe/Tarboro Narcotics Task Force conducted an investigation on August 12, 2014 concerning the illegal sale of Hydrocodone pills. As a result, surveillance was established within a business district located along the Highway 64 and Highway 258 intersection. While conducting the surveillance, law enforcement officers observed Kathryn Burks make a delivery of (20) Oxycodone pills to an undercover narcotics officer. As the on-going investigation reached a conclusion, a warrant for Burk’s arrest was obtained and served on October 28, 2014. She was subsequently detained in the Edgecombe County Detention Center under a $255,000.00 secured bond.
