Media Release, January 23. Arrest Warrant Executed A wanted man made a smart choice. On Wednesday, January 22, 2014, around 10:45 a.m., South Simcoe officers located a wanted man inside a residence in Bradford. After speaking to the fugitive through the locked door, and explaining his options, the man surrendered peacefully. A 26 year old Bradford resident was held in custody for a bail hearing on a charge of Fail to Appear in Court. After his court appearance, the man will be turned over to York Regional Police, as he is also wanted by them on unrelated charges. Wrong Way Driver Charged Blindly following your GPS can result in charges. During the evening of Wednesday, January 22, 2014, a Bradford woman turned past two large One Way signs and onto an off ramp of Highway 400. The traffic coming off the highway was able to stop, and she was apprehended as she cut off a South Simcoe Police cruiser while turning back onto the local road. When asked to explain her actions, she insisted that her GPS had told her to turn onto the off ramp. She was checked for sobriety, ticketed for Drive Wrong Way-One Way Traffic, then pointed in the right direction.
