Media Release November 12th 2014 Big Spring Police Department On the 8th of November 2014 just before noon, Big Spring Police Department Officers were dispatched to the Roy Anderson Sports Complex (1700 W. IH 20) in regards to suspicious incident. Officers learned that a child was in the parking lot when an older White/Male told the child to come to him and that he had something for the child. The child then ran off, locked himself in his own vehicle and later contacted his mother. At the time of this the older White/Male was within his own vehicle described as a White Chevrolet Silverado with a Black grill guard. The mother of the child told the Police once she learned of the incident she responded to the parking lot and received the license plate of the suspect vehicle as it was driving off. The license plate given to Police is registered to an elderly female individual in Big Spring. At this point within the investigation, Officers do not have the required information to formally charge anyone with a criminal offense. The charge Enticing a Child requires an element to the offense to prove the individual intended to interfere with the custodial rights of the guardian. At this time we do not know what the intent of the older White/Male was. The Criminal Investigations Division is following up on this incident.
