Media Release: Thieves Damage Main in Laventille Residents of Belmont and parts of Laventille, who are currently experiencing an interruption in their water supply, are advised that this is due to a break on an 18” main located outside Beverley Hills Apartment, which was caused by thieves who were attempting to steal a portion of the line. The incident occurred sometime last night –Sunday 27th July. The thieves, however, were frustrated in their illegal venture, as the line was active/fully charged at the time and therefore difficult to remove. A crew is currently on site working to replace the damaged portion of the main. Service is expected to be restored over a 24 hour period.
