Media Release: This afternoon, at approximately 3:45 PM, Leesburg Police received a call of a drive-by style shooting, near the 200 block of Church Street, in East Leesburg. The vehicle was described as a grey or blue Chrysler 300 type vehicle, with tinted windows, and the shooter is suspected to be a black male in his mid-twenties. A twelve year old boy was struck by gunfire during the incident and he was airlifted to Arnold Palmer Hospital for medical treatment. His condition is currently unknown, however he was described in stable condition by medical personnel at the time of transport. Officers and detectives are actively seeking suspect(s) at this time, and they are conducting door to door interviews in the area.
