Co-written by Victoria, More Than Friends is the first single to be released from her forthcoming sophomore album Accelerate, set for a June 3 release. A music video for the song was shot in Los Angeles last month and will be released in the coming weeks. More Than Friends is the first new music from the Abbotsford, BC singer-songwriter-dancer since 2012s Juno-nominated debut album Shut Up and Dance. Accelerate is about confidence and going after what you want and I think More Than Friends really encompasses that idea, says Victoria. Victoria Duffield will support Backstreet Boys on their 12-date national Canadian arena tour, beginning May 3 in Moncton, NB. With todays announcements, Victoria has relaunched her official web site, victoriaduffield. Fans who visit the site can access a new app that aims to put a new twist on the selfie revolution, allowing them to take a photo (selfie) of themselves or with friends, pick a relationship status (example #morethanfriends, #myfam, or #notlooking), and share the newly created More Than Friends selfies through social media networks. The photos will also be showcased in a gallery on Victorias site, along with some of her own personalized selfies. Victoria Duffield became one of Canadas biggest musical breakthroughs with the release of her debut album Shut Up and Dance in 2012. The album earned a Juno Award nomination in the Pop Album of the Year category, while her platinum-selling debut title track was the most played song at radio by a Canadian artist for nine weeks and reached No. 1 on the Much video countdown. Her array of hit singles have amassed more than 100,000 spins at radio, including three #1 hits on the Canadian Emerging Artists chart, which led to Victoria winning Nielsen Entertainments Emerging Artist Award for 2012.
