Media Release: WASA maintains supply schedules despite recent rainfall Water and Sewerage Authority advises customers that in spite of recent periods of heavy rainfall, the water supply schedules implemented during the Dry Season and maintained through the Dry Spell at the beginning of the Rainy Season, remain in effect. Though recent rainfall events have had a positive impact on our reservoir levels to the point where all four – Arena, Navet, Hollis and Hillsborough, are now beyond the respective long-term averages, the Authority is continuing to closely monitor these levels in relation to the country’s overall water supply situation. This, as the Authority engages in prudent management of our water resources, in order to ensure that all major reservoirs are at capacity by the end of the year, in preparation for the 2015 Dry Season. Notwithstanding this, some customers may have experienced an increased water supply recently. This followed improvements in the overall production capability at several of our surface water treatment plants that benefitted from greater rainfall levels lately. Customers served by the Hollis Reservoir in particular are however advised that the reduced schedules implemented during the Dry Season remain unchanged due to the slow recovery rate of that system. The areas served by the Hollis system include: • Town of Arima • Malabar Phase 2 • Parts of O’Meara Road • Samaroo Village • Arima Old Road and environs • Lynton Gardens • Clever Road and environs • Dabadie • La Resource North & South • Lillian Heights and Bregon Park • Arouca • EMR from Arima to Arouca Customers unsure of their water supply schedule are advised to visit the Authority’s website wasa.gov.tt and Facebook Page: Facebook/ WASA Trinidad and Tobago, for information on the days and times they are due to receive a pipe borne water supply. The Authority encourages customers to continue to manage and use their water wisely to ensure its future availability. visit wasa.gov.tt/WASA_Media_Press.html for updates and details.
