Media statement by DAP Johor State Secretary and State Assemblywoman for Penggaram Gan Peck Cheng on 6th July 2014 in Batu Pahat DAP Johor votes to refer Norman Fernandez to DAP Disciplinary Committee I was asked by the media to comment on allegations that Sdr. Norman Fernandez had been referred to DAP’s Disciplinary Committee by the Johor Pakatan Rakyat Council, according to a news report in China Press (Page A18, dated 6.7.14). I regret that details of the DAP State Committee meeting had been distorted and leaked to the media without the consent of the Committee. During the 7th Meeting of DAP State Committee (2013-2015) which was held on 5th July 2014 in Johor Bahru, the Committee voted on a motion to refer Sdr. Norman Fernandez to the DAP Disciplinary Committee. During the meeting, 18 out of 20 DAP State Committee members voted for the motion, while two abstained. The motion was prompted by three recent Facebook posts by Sdr Fernandez which compromised the party’s image in the eyes of the public (see attachments). The decision was not discussed at the Johor Pakatan Rakyat meeting and is strictly a DAP internal affair. Gan Peck Cheng
