Media urged for constructive discourse in cohesion with national agenda Radio Pakistan Wednesday, 27th Nov 2013 #Islamabad Information Secretary Dr. Nazir Saeed has urged media for a constructive discourse which is in line with national agenda. Addressing conference on #Alternative #Media in Islamabad today‚ he said state of freedom of speech has improved in recent years‚ which is essential part of a dynamic democracy. He said people today have more options to choose their medium of information. He said Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation and Pakistan Television done a great job in educating and enlightening people. Regarding a question about ban on YouTube‚ the Secretary said the government will soon announce something positive in this regard. Earlier in the conference‚ #German #Ambassador Cyril Nunn lauded the courage of Pakistan journalists in bringing facts to the public. He said media is evolving in #Pakistan and new generation is more interested in getting news from alternative media sources.
