Medical care in México is different. Today, a doctor came to my house and washed all my dirty dishes. Well, actually, theres a bit more to the story. For the first time in a long time, my three English students came for lunch at Rollys House of Pasta. I made fettuccine Alfreda with cauliflower. You may remember that the guys are a medical doctor (and expert dish washer), a veterinarian, and a computer genius. After lunch, I got out my high school senior yearbook (1948). This was a new concept for them. I was surprise at how interested they were in the book; they examined every page as though they knew the people. I also had to explain the meanings of Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior. These class names are not used in México where progress is measured in semesters completed. They will come again in two week for a birthday party for me (#83). They (or their mothers) will do the cooking. Also on the good news side, I learned where I can buy live Maine lobsters in Torreón. Soon!!!
