Medical update: Prognosis good. From the podiatrist: 50% reduction of the abcess in a week is better than he expected in a month. From my PCP: Keep the sugars under control and a lot more will fall into place. Still shaking off the side effects of a weekend of industrial strength antihistamines and steroids. Not back to 100% but definitely improving. Can do 2 flights of stairs at work now - will work that up to more. Will likely start pell work again to get back into fighting shape. I can actually put weight on my heel (carefully!) and stand mostly normally. (my back thanks me for this!) My rattan pimp cane - I am thinking I should keep that as an accessory at the least. :) As always, my beautiful and angelically patient wife Jennifer Olson helped far more than she knows.
