Meditate with Power! God’s Understanding and Comfort! 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” Meditate on God’s Word! If you have ever wondered why do you have to go through difficult times this is one of the best verses in the Bible to read. Let’s take a closer look; “The God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” 2 Corinthians 1:4 Jesus told us He would send the Comforter or the Holy Spirit to help us in our time of need; “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.” John 14:16-17 Paul tells us that the Holy Spirit does for us what we cannot do in our own strength; “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” Romans 8:26-27 As we suffer in life, the strength we receive to endure comes from Jesus and the Holy Spirit. We in turn are to comfort others through God’s strength, that is our calling; “For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. 6 If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. 7 And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.” 2 Corinthians 1:6-7 Enjoy God’s comfort today, then use this strength to help others as they struggle and suffer in life.
