Meditation for today - Sept 3 Expectation Isaiah 5:1-4 1 Now let me sing to my Well-beloved A song of my Beloved regarding His vineyard: My Well-beloved has a vineyard On a very fruitful hill. 2 He dug it up and cleared out its stones, And planted it with the choicest vine. He built a tower in its midst, And also made a winepress in it; So He expected it to bring forth good grapes, But it brought forth wild grapes. 3 “And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, Judge, please, between Me and My vineyard. 4 What more could have been done to My vineyard That I have not done in it? Why then, when I expected it to bring forth good grapes, Did it bring forth wild grapes? We need to realise that God is expecting somethings from us everywhere we go, everyday we are alive as believers. He is expecting us to bring forth good fruit, the fruit of the spirit and not manifest the works of the flesh. God is expecting is to behave in a certain way, speak in a certain manner with every one we come in contact with and anywhere we find ourselves there by proving ourselves as true children of God. God is expecting us to worship and praise Him today just like the Samaritan leper who came back to glorify God Jesus asked the leper in - Luke 17:17 So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? Although Jesus did not instruct them, but He expected them to praise Him. God again expects us to tell others that we come in contact with about Him. About His love, about His grace Hezekiah got into trouble with God for not doing so - Isaiah 39:1, 2 1 At that time Merodach-Baladan the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah, for he heard that he had been sick and had recovered. 2 And Hezekiah was pleased with them, and showed them the house of his treasures—the silver and gold, the spices and precious ointment, and all his armory—all that was found among his treasures. There was nothing in his house or in all his dominion that Hezekiah did not show them. Hezekiah chose to show off what he had rather than to show off his God and so, All he had was taken away from him. So also, We are not to show off our blessings but our Blesser, Not our healing but our Healer, not our deliverance but our Deliverer. God us these expectations of us today and everyday ... ...hmmm....grace ..oh grace...
