Meditation for today - Sept 30 The Price Of Godliness II Timothy 3:10-12 10 But you have carefully followed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, love, perseverance, 11 persecutions, afflictions, which happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra—what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me. 12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. We need to realise and be willing to accept that, persecution rather than celebration is the reward godliness in this generation. This is a world that persecuted those who do right, Persecute the man or woman who choose to keep themselves pure till marriage, seeing them as backward and calling them foul names, But will celebrate those who live lasciviously lives, A world where people who chose not to be fraudulent at work and their dealings with men are seen to be stupid and foolish while The fraudulent are celebrated as smart and often given places of honour even in the church, A world where if you are not ready to cut corners but to do things by the book, you will wait endlessly for your turn but, If you are ready to jump the queue, and pay your way through one way or the other, Then success comes fast and easier your way. The bible records the outcry of Jesus against the Pharisees in - John 10:31-32 31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. 32 Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?” This is a world that will throw stones, speak hurtful words at someone who does good works while They will shower praises at the ones who does despicable things. And as a result of these, many have given up, or are feeling like given up on good works. No, we must not give up on good works, we must not stop doing what is right in spite of the cost to our person. That is why we are a light to this generation and eventually although maybe not initially, We can be assured that our good works will not only speak for us but we will also be rewarded. ...hmm...grace oh grace...
