Medway was recently invited to consider being part of the nationwide United Year of Prayer for young people which was commissioned in September 2012 at the National Day of Prayer in Wembley. Urban Saints are taking a lead in planning this initiative, supported by a wide range of organisations ( eg.Youth for Christ, Soul Survivor, , Scripture Union, Hope Revolution , 24/7 Prayer ,National Day of Prayer). Different cities and towns around the country have been taking weeks for prayer through the year. As the year is far gone, time is now short. You and/or your youth worker and young people from your fellowship/area are invited to attend an afternoon of – banqueting / archery / worship – at a barn in Rochester from 2.00pm to 4.30pm on Sunday 8th December. Here is the plan: 2.00pm – We will meet at Manor Farm Barn, Parsonage Lane , Frindsbury , ME2 4UT for a barbecue and archery practise. The barbecue and archery are free, with contributions welcome 3.00pm – Worship, prayer, short presentations and discussion; the prayer scroll that has been around the nation will be handed over to Medway for the week (8th -15th December). 4.30pm – End Why banqueting, archery and worship? You’ll have to come to find out! Please note: This is an outdoor event with a shelter. You will need to wrap up warm as the Barn has open ends and no heating. We have booked a church building to go to as a contingency if the weather is too cold and wet. If you are planning to come, please let us know the numbers coming. At this meeting the young people will be invited to plan what the week in Medway (8th -15th December) will look like, and possibly agree other meetings where they can gather to pray etc., If your fellowship has an existing meeting for young people during that week , and you would like to offer to open it up to others, please do let us know, and it can be included in the discussions on the day.
