Meeks was federally investigated in recent years for failing to disclose a loan he received from a businessman who pleaded guilty to a $50 million mortgage-fraud scheme. He also was investigated for taking at least six trips to the Caribbean from a businessman who asked Meeks to ask for a favor from the now deceased Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez on behalf of the businessman. Meeks was named to the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington’s Most Corrupt list in both 2011 and 2012. Rep. Gregory Meeks (D., N.Y.), who has been labeled one of the most corrupt members of Congress, was on a trip to Kazakhstan and this picture he posed for is amazing.
