Meet 14-year-old Ensley! She was a runner on Team TobyMac last year. Read her amazing story, shared with us by her mother... Ensley had such an awesome time, truly incredible! But more importantly, she was so humbled to be a part of the whole experience. It touched her heart deeply... from beginning to end. In April 2014, after 197 miles and 4 months of training & running in snow, sleet, etc, God very graciously equipped & blessed her with a window of good health and the ability to finish two half marathons in Pensacola and Nashville. God opened hearts and as a result she raised $5000 for a family friend who has cancer, as well as the $2000 for New Hope Academy. God is so good! The whole experience was unbelievable & so worth it all!! She LOVED devotion and worship at NHA!!! She still talks about it!!! It was a God thing, for sure. ONLY GOD!! She said she knew God was telling her to do it, so she just got busy. God had laid it on her heart to help someone go to New Hope Academy on her own, to fast extras in her own life to love on someone else and to do it quietly without anyone knowing as an offering to Him. She personally gave up any and all extras from the first week in January until the end of May to pay for the donation. No eating out of any kind. No new purchases of any kind. She saved every penny she got for her birthday. She gave up youth trips, birthday parties, class field trips, spring break, beach trips, etc. She really grew in her walk with the Lord during all those months and it blessed her heart so much!!!
