Meet Dispatcher Jennifer Tang. Jennifer was a police explorer for the South Pasadena Police Department when she was 16. In 1998, she worked at the San Marino Police Department as a Community Service Officer and a dispatcher. From there, she transferred to the Claremont Police Department where she worked as a dispatcher until 2002, at which time she transferred to the Azusa Police Department. Jennifers favorite part of being a dispatcher is the multi-tasking required during high-stress incidents. She looks at talking on the phone and radio, listening to officers and victims, while typing info into the computer as a challenge. She also flourishes at searching the various databases and reports during critical, time-sensitive calls, to identify a suspect or vehicle used in a crime. Jennifers least favorite calls are those involving injured, neglected or stray animals. Being a pet owner herself, she is a passionate animal lover who spends her free time volunteering for animal organizations. On a personal note, Jennifer enjoys traveling to tropical locations, and hopes to someday visit Bora Bora, Morea, Italy and Spain. She enjoys walking and hiking, as she feels this is a great stress reducer. The Azusa Police Department and the people of Azusa are fortunate to have a dedicated professional such as Jennifer answering calls for service. Her compassion for victims and vigilance in assisting in the solving of crimes are her traits all of us admire. We are proud to call Jennifer a member of our team. ow.ly/i/5gqQj
