Meet Ellie. The tattoo and notch in her ear told the folks at Central Texas Dachshund Rescue (CTDR) that she’d been a breeding dog at a puppy mill. Too old to produce more puppies, she was discarded, ending up in a pound. Sweet Ellie had a bubbly personality and a desire to sit on any lap that would have her! Sadly, she was diagnosed with advanced respiratory disease—and then cancer—probably from something she was exposed to in her previous life. Safe in her foster mom’s home, Ellie entered CTDR’s hospice care program, funded by Grey Muzzle. And her tail never stopped wagging! Ellie’s end came peacefully. And everyone who knew her was grateful that her last five years had been such happy ones. All dogs deserve a happy tail before crossing the Rainbow Bridge. You can help make that happen. We must raise critical funds for 2015 by tomorrow. Join us. Give the gift of hospice at bit.ly/olddogsshine. #OldDogsShine
