Meet Ema Shah, the Kuwaiti musician who caused a storm by singing in Hebrew. In this video, of course, shes singing in Arabic (to Sheikh Nasser Al-Sabah, the former Prime Minister of Kuwait). However, at one of her shows, deciding it would sound nice on her guitar, she decided to sing the Hebrew song Hava Nagila, prompting outrage in Kuwait and the wider Arab world. Not to be deterred, Ema has continued to insist on reaching out to Israelis and Jews through her art. We Arabs should work together with Jews, she says. We are family, and we are all human beings.
