Meet John Roy. In 1950, John made his surprise debut at Carnegie Hall with The Louisville Orchestra and Martha Graham. That night, the program featured Graham dancing Judith, composed by William Schuman, and a host of original commissions by contemporary composers conducted by Robert Whitney. Music Makes A Citymarks the anniversary of this historic concert with a personal account from John, who joined the orchestra as third percussionist for the Carnegie Hall performance.
