Meet Journey. This girl has a long road to recovery, but she has us to help her. We got a call late tonight while eating dinner about a pittie locked in a small crate for 6 days. OUTSIDE. You cant imagine what she went through. No food. No water. Only able to lay in her own pee and poop. Of course, We dropped everything and went to save her from imminent death. We get there only to find out the police said they could do nothing. As we are standing there planning on how to get to her, her owners get home. Words ensue...end result they gave her to us. They told us to go into the back yard to get her. We go into the gate only to find a terrified, smelly, starving red little pittie girl. The smell was horrendous. She had broken wires on the crate and had her head stuck through. Literally. ..stuck in the crate trying to free herself from her misery. No sign of food or water. .. Just her own feces and pee everywhere. She was a slimy mess. It was obvious she needed our help. After breaking the crate more to get her free, we could then tell how skinny she was and that she has major hair loss from something. The important thing is.... We got her. She was so happy to be free from that crate. And here is the start of her journey. This baby will be going to the vet in the morning to assess how bad the neglect has affected her. We know she has some type of skin condition, she needs to gain some weight and probably is loaded with worms. We will get her tested for heart worms tomorrow. ... fingers crossed she is negative. We are estimating her to be about 8- 10 months old so once we get her healthy, she should live a long life. We need your help in order to get this baby healthy. No donation is too small. Donations can be made via PayPal at [email protected]. Please mention Journey when you donate. If you cant donate, please help her by sharing her story.
