Meet Konrad. Hes only a kitten. Maybe 6 mths old. He looks at least 18 years old. What happened to him at such a young age to make him give up I dont know. And to be honest I dont want to know. He doesnt know how to play, he has old eyes, he doesnt believe he deserves any better from life. I do. Whatever happened to him wasnt his fault. But now he needs help. Hes booked into the Gatton UQ small animal hospital on Friday. Hes been referred to them from Fernvale Vet Clinic. It seems he has a thickening of his windpipe that causes him problems with breathing and eating. Consultation plus bloods and xrays wlll be around $500 to begin with. Then we face the very real possibility of surgery. I know this is a difficult time of year for everyone financially. But in rescue we cannot turn our backs. Even if everyone gave just $2 each that would give us over $6,000 (and its tax deductible). Often its the same people dipping into their pockets to help. Lets prove to them that at this time of the year we can all spare just $2 to help when needed. I want to see a spark of joy in his eyes. If we cant offer that to one small kitten who humanity has failed so miserably then what use are we. Thank you.
