Meet Loretta, a 4 year old Great Pyr. She was involved in a cruelty case in Sumner County in January. She (and other animals) were found severely neglected, she weighed 48 pounds, nothing but bones. Her ideal weight is about 105. Her owner was found guilty of cruelty to animals, she served jail time, paid fines and will not be allowed to own animals for many years. When she entered SCAC she was weak, matted and emaciated. The veterinarian gave her a BCS of 1. It was painful just to look at her. She spent 6 months in a kennel at AC. They called me last week, she was finally free to leave if someone would take her. I picked her up on Tuesday and she is WONDERFUL! She was perfect during a nail trim, brushing, medications, walking with my dogs... Love her!
