Meet Mr Cannon Hero! (Cannon is from Contra Costa Animal Services) Cannon is a 3 month old, 4 lb Chihuahua Mix NEUTERED MALE. He has had age-appropriate vaccinations, is microchipped and is free of parasites. We were asked to take Cannon because he has a Grade 6/6 heart murmur. This is a heart murmur that can be heard by a layperson without the use of a stethoscope (sounds like a washing machine)! This condition will most likely be life-limiting and we will be looking for a special home for him who will love him and give him the best life than he can have while he is here with us. He DID make it through his neuter surgery, so we know he is a fighter :) Cannon will visit a specialist to get a specific diagnosis and to see if medication or surgery would be warranted or helpful. We will probably also get a prognosis on how long his life expectancy is. Cannon is a puppy, so like all puppies he is not crate trained, leash trained or housebroken (although he is great about using pee pads). He is good with other animals and although shy would be a nice dog with gentle children. If anyone with a big heart is interested in adopting Cannon, we will provide all needed vet care for him for life at no cost to the adopter at our vet in the SF East Bay of CA (94565).
