Meet Nigel. He is the young stray boxer that was found on Eagleville Rd in Blanchard last week. Thousands of people have viewed his shared picture that was posted twice. Sadly, nobody has reported him missing or has claimed him. He was found with no collar or microchip. He is young and not neutered. We visited with him on Monday and realized he clearly did not like the kennel. He was very scared. We did not get him out of the kennel until today. It took some time but he was able to trust us enough to enter his kennel and put a leash on him. Cheeseburgers are amazing motivators. Once we got him outside he was so excited. He was a big sweetheart outside. He knows how to sit and lay down on command and is pretty gentle at taking treats. He is very strong and will need some training with walking on a leash. He will need a harness for now. He was a little jumpy but he was just excited to be out taking a walk. He needs neutered and Mr. Lyons is working on getting that appointment made. He is thin and could stand to gain a few pounds. Since we know nothing about his past we can not tell you about his history with other dogs, cats, or children. He was fine however walking around the other kenneled dogs. He didnt even bark at them. We left him today with a new dog bed and some toys to make him more comfortable.
