Meet Our Band Members! PATRICK SIMARD (CANADA) – Drums Patrick Simard grew up in a small town near Ottawa, Canada, and has been attending Berklee College of Music since the age of 17, where he studies Jazz Composition and Drumset Performance on a full scholarship. A versatile drummer playing anything from funk, to folk, world music, or jazz, he has received the Armand Zildjian Award, having studied with Hal Crook, Phil Wilson, Terri-Lyne Carrington, Mark Walker, Bertram Lehmann. Since 2012, he has been part of Berklees Global Jazz Institute, led by Danilo Perez and Marco Pignataro, where he has since had the opportunity to be mentored by some of the most prominent jazz musicians alive today, such as John Patitucci, Brian Blade, Joe Lovano, Dave Liebman, Adam Cruz, Ben Street, and Danilo Perez. The Global Jazz Institute is geared towards creating a stronger link between music and the world community. As part of this institute, he has performed and taught in the US and internationally such as the JEN Conference in Atlanta with John Patitucci, as well as a recent tour of Benin and Togo in West Africa with Danilo Perez. ________________________________________ This world need both MEN and WOMENs effort.
