Meet Phoenix (AKA Georgie) and Bea. I sped all the way to the Animal Humane Society in St. Paul to snatch up two sweet sibling kitties for Sofies bday we hadnt even seen yet (pics shared earlier on my post by Marisa Squadrito Geisler) For some reason, I had tears in my eyes on the way there, remembering the rushing to the hospital with Kyle when we learned our children were being born. I was heartbroken to arrive two minutes too late to see a young woman adopting the female sibling of Phoenix, Amelia; They had been together since birth and had formed quite a bond. We had intended to adopt both, a brother and sister, like our own brother and sister, Henry and Sofie :) I had the nerve to tell the adoptive parent of the female kitten that the siblings were to remain together, but it was too late. Happily she seemed like a nice young woman and said she had another cat at home to keep the kitty company. I gathered myself together and saw another sweet female kitten, Bea. She had been found in a wood pile when she was about 8 weeks old so had not been socialized. I paid $ to put a hold on both until we could return later that evening with Sofie to see how they would do together. She loved them both, two very different personalities, and they are both settling in to their new home! I think all will be well. Thanks for indulging our drama and excitement of the past 24 hours!
