Meet SQUIRREL!! This sweet little lady has a sad history, but her future is looking quite nice! Once upon a time this sweet little red pibble girl had a family. We know this because she knows basic commands and is extremely gentle. The sad thing is that this family didn’t do their very best to take good care of her because she was never spayed, got pregnant, and wound up in the worst animal control facility there is in metro Atlanta. While there she had SEVEN babies…in a dirty, flea infested, loud, stressful animal control building. The saddest part of this story is that all but one of her babies died. Let’s fast forward to her story being spread like wildfire among the nice folks at Angels Among Us, where Angels sprang into action and pulled her from that ugly building, which turned her story from a tragedy to a fairy tale. Squirrel is a dainty 1.5 year old pibble mix girl who weighs in at a slight 53 pounds. We think she’s mixed with boxer because of her coloring and the way she plays and prances. She has a very special pink spot on her nose, which we think is the mark of perfection! For the most part she’s a low to medium energy little lady, but when she is feeling silly it’s a delight to watch. She just loves to play with a JollyBall or to play fetch with tennis balls. But when she gets tuckered out, she LOVES to snuggle, but isn’t a bed hog! Squirrel is house-trained, crate trained, knows some basic commands, and has a lovely demeanor. She is so gentle and sweet. Since being fostered in our home, she was properly introduced to and socialized with both male and female dogs that are both small and large. She is cat friendly, too! As with all AAU animals, she is up to date on shots and spayed… a happy and healthy, sweet and loving, wonderful addition to any family!
