Meet Skelly Bean! Skelly spent 2 years chained in a backyard in Missouri. A utility worker noticed movement in the weeds and was shocked when he found Skelly emaciated at 30 lbs and covered in burns and sores. He called the cops and Skellys owner went to jail for 90 days... but the story doesnt end there. From jail this jerk had his friends break into the shelter where Skelly was being housed not once but TWICE and they vandalized the shelter and stole all their laptops and cameras. He made threats that once he was out of jail he planned to kill Skelly... so, the shelter workers networked to get him outta dodge and he is now safe and sound in NYC learning what life is like to be a dog. He is dog and cat friendly (he LOVES dogs, ideally should go to a home with dogs). He is medium to low energy and loves toys but also loves a nice nap. Skelly is heartworm positive and has already started treatment (he is NOT contagious but will need to stay calm until those worms are gone.)
