Meet Tessa Catherine Demers…. Steve and I were so excited when we found out in February that we were expecting another baby. We never made an announcement, because unfortunately a few weeks later I started experiencing complications. Throughout the entire pregnancy we were worried that the baby was not going to make it. Thankfully, two months ago today at approximately 1:05pm we heard a cry in the operating room that changed our lives forever... Tessa Catherine Demers was born. The doctors decided at 34 weeks that she would be safer on the outside than in utero. During the pregnancy she had severe inter-uterine growth restriction so she was only 3 pounds and 3 ounces. She spent several weeks in the NICU at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn. She has been home a couple weeks now and is doing great - weighing in at 5 pounds 10 ounces. Her big sister is so in love with her and happy to have her home. She is such a sweet little peanut… We are so blessed. :o)
