Meet Trippin, a beautiful bay thoroughbred who came to the ranch from the Virgin Islands in 2003. Trippin is 23 years old, a former racehorse who found himself facing an uncertain future when he could no longer run. Horseracing is extremely popular in the Virgin Islands, however, if they become injured or can no longer “earn their keep”, many of these horses have nowhere to go. When Trippin came to us, he had arthritis and tendon damage in all four legs. With good medical care, a healthy diet and great pasture buddies, Trippin is loving his life! He and his best friend Odin are the “class clowns” of the pasture and love to cool off in the pond on hot summer days. This also helps immensely with Trippin’s arthritis. He is a favorite among staff and visitors alike!!
