He holds a B.A. in Psychology from Indiana University and a M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval War College. His military awards include the Bronze Star, Navy Commendation Medal with “V” for Valor in combat, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and Navy Achievement Medal.
