Meet our handsome Labby boy, Drake (f/k/a Butch)! You may remember our sweet boy’s story from a while back. He and his sis, Sundance, were tied up at the TC Jester Park and just left there - abandoned. When we got there we discovered that they had been tied up to the workout equipment there in the park and left with no food or water – this was in the middle of a Houston summer! Not only did they have no water, they had wrapped themselves around the equipment so much that they did not even have enough lead left to lay down without choking themselves. We got there just in time as animal control was on site trying to get them. When we first approached them they were very frightened and were barking at us - we dont blame them one bit. We gave them some water and talked to them for a few minutes to reassure them, and then got some leashes on them. Once we got them on leashes, untied them and led them away, they were great and seemed appreciative that we freed them. Our sweet boy Drake was adopted by a great family, but due to uncontrollable circumstances, they were not longer able to keep Drake as part of their family. So, he’s back with us and looking for a new forever home and would really love a foster home while he waits. Drake is a medium size male Black Lab. He’s accustomed to being indoors, is crate-trained and well-behaved. He’s your typical goofy Black Lab. He’s great with kiddos too (lived in a home with a toddler)! Oh and he loves the ladies!! While he is fine with other submissive boys, he is exceptionally good with female dogs. He’s your typical Lab with some energy, but not a bonkers kind of guy. He gets excited at first, but quickly settles down and boy does he love to lounge! Please consider fostering this handsome guy! He would make a great family pet and what’s not to love about a Labby?! Drake is up to date on vaccines, neutered and micro-chipped. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Drake, please contact us at [email protected] and go straight to our website to complete an application at scoutshonor.org. SHR covers all expenses associated with fostering!
