Meet the Dancers Diane Gonzales caught the Hungarian dance bug - TopicsExpress

Meet the Dancers Diane Gonzales caught the Hungarian dance bug back in the 80s and now helps teach a Sunday night Hungarian dance class in Arlington along with Dénes Takácsy. In addition to Hungarian, English, waltz, contra, international folk, and swing dancing, Diane also coordinates a monthly Mostly Waltz dance in Concord where she teaches with Tom Roby and serves as couple dance chair for the annual New England Folk Festival. When she isnt dancing somewhere, Diane works as a senior business analyst / product manager in financial services market data at Interactive Data in Bedford, MA. Tom Roby began folk dancing as an undergraduate at Swarthmore College and has been passionately pursuing it ever since. As a teacher, Tom is especially well versed in Balkan line dances, improvisational Hungarian dances, and English & American set dances, which he calls regularly. He also has a keen interest in other couple dances, both choreographed and led/followed, e.g., waltz, zwiefache, Scandinavian, Lindy, Argentine Tango, and Irish sets. Now based in Connecticut and Massachusetts, Tom calls dances around New England and teaches at festivals and dance weekends farther afield.
