Meet the amazing Red He came into our care 2 weeks ago and has been cared for in the home of our welfare manager. He’s been through a terrible period of neglect - abuse that ultimately cost him a leg. His former owners after taking him to a charitable veterinary service to have his broken leg set with pins didn’t then bother to take him back to have the pins removed. This meant that they festered within him, causing him unimaginable pain, and slowly but surely the wasting away of the muscles in the leg. Once in care it was obvious that there was no other option than for Red to have his leg amputated. For all the agonies he has been through little Red has battled through with tremendous courage. He has been out and about in a busy town, getting used to his new balance and getting back to a normal way of life. We are delighted to say that Red has now been offered a loving new home where he will get all the love and care he needs to spend the rest of his life in comfort and safety. It’s only thanks to the generosity we receive from our supporters that we can continue to save the lives of dogs like Red so on behalf of all the dogs we have saved we would like to say thank you.
