What is your shirt number? 24 Why this number? My sister has number 20 at Terrasvogels and I got number 4. When I got selected for the National team I felt that 24 was the most personal: my number 4 added to the number of my sister 20. Left or right handed? Right handed. How long do you play softball? Over 16 years now Where did you start playing softball? I started playing softball with Kinheim from Haarlem. For which club do you play now? I am now playing for Terrasvogels in Santpoort How long are you playing for the National team? This year will be my sixth. From who did you learn to play softball? My parents taught me a lot. They also played softball. My father was my coach for many years. Who is or was your example? Cat Osterman, pitcher of team USA. What is your best memory from your career? In my first year with the National team we won the European Championships in 2009 in Italy. But also winning the National Championships with Alcmaria Victrix in 2012 and with La Loggia in 2013 in Italy are events I won’t forget that easy. Which tournament (or game) has been the most impressive to you? This was the World Cup in Oklahoma. I was the starting pitcher against team USA and this was a very special moment for me. What is the greatest action you ever made? In the Holland Series (Dutch Championship) against Sparks Haarlem. They had all bases loaded and only 1 out. I got 2 K’s to end the inning without a run scored. This gave me goose bumps. What did you want to be when you were a child? As long as I remember I wanted to be hairdresser . What did you study for? I studied to be a hairdresser. What do you want to be now? I became what I wanted to be: a hairdresser. Since august 2013 I have my own hair salon in Haarlem: Knippen Duss. I love working there every day. It is a great feeling helping people to get a beautiful haircut and see them leaving the shop with a smile on their faces.
