Mega meet Write up. Thanks to all of you that came along to the meet. It was great to see some new faces, and see some impressive cars that I have not seen before. The day started off with an early car wash for myself and Chris Lee and David at Centenary Car Wash at 6.15am. Some of us looked better at this time of the morning than others....... David. After a nice drive to Boondall (Via COFFEE at Shell Nudgee) waves of Euro love came streaming through. It truly was a great line up for the drive. Next time we should have a bigger convoy. We had our drivers briefing and headed for the Gateway Mwy. Up the front I didnt get to see much behind me apart from the right lane of the HWY full of Euro cars it almost looked like a sea of Blue with specks of Red, Silver and Black. And some shiny wheels on a Camo Merc. Apart from a few getting a bit spirited it was a lovely drive and some of those rolling shots looked amazing. Next was a quick stop in at Woolworths Park Ridge, which is where coincidentally the BMW club where starting their run. I ducked in to get some sauce and ice for the bbq and eskys. To be greated by a bunch of people from our group getting some supplies. After another quick drivers briefing it was on the road again. Once on the road again we headed through Beaudesert, with some of us (because of me) missing the turn off and going through some back streets. Much to the amusement of the local blowing the leaves off his driveway. As a convoy of VW and BMWs came up his normally quiet street. Upon arrival at the dam a group of us set up the marquee and got the eskys ready for what would be a really hot day. I must give a heartful thanks to Andy AJ Lockyer and his lovely woman for their help on the BBQ and with the drinks. As well as ferrying the BBQ to the Dam in the Amarok. James Doble for that amazing footage from the Hexicopter that had alot of people intrigued as it flew over head. Also to those that brought eskys and a bench for us all to work on Stephen Hogarth, Adrian Tripp and Joel Van Luyn, it is much appreciated, and I know for certain there were plenty of people there that were pleased to have cold drinks. And to those I missed, thank you. I only have a few bad things to say and they would be obviously relating to the Park Ranger coming down because of complaints they had received, and the police getting a report of 60 cars Hooning! I smoothed this over and had the cops leaving with a smile on their faces. I brought this all to your attention at the meet and would like to take this opportunity to let you all know that, you do represent this group when your out and about with the group stickers on or when at an event. Just try to keep that in mind. On a positive note I was extremely happy to see the lack of rubbish lying around which is most prevalent at other events. Again thanks to all of you that turned up and made the day what it was. Without you it wouldnt have been the same. Next time, bigger, better and a new venue. Stay tuned. Bris Euro Admins .
