Mehmet Özay 26 Temmuz 2013 Laos, one of the three countries in Indo-China, has a relatively small territory which does not have an access to seas. In this context, it makes this country unique among the other regional states. Owing to this reason, it has not much interacted with neither internal nor external folks historically. Even today, the interactions of the larger ethnic group Lao settled in the central and northern parts with the ethnic minorities inhabiting in the mountainous regions, particularly in the border of Viet Nam are problematic. On the other hand, Muslim community is very tiny if compared with the ones in neighbor countries. Laos has a great experience of pre-colonial three native kingdoms territorially divided from each other; reorganization by the hands of the colonial power; collaboration of the Palace circles with the French; civil war; Vietnam War, communist revolution… Now Laos people wish to forget the dark past and commence a new life.
