Mel Gibson & Jah Rastafari - 6 degrees of separation:- A shop in Brixton village used to feature a T shirt emblazoned with half a Scottish flag and half a Jamaican flag spliced together; a mash-up if you will, with the legend Scotland Yard written beneath. Perhaps Indicative of past/future Scottish/Jamaican collaborations in the pursuit of entertainment? A Tam O Shanter - is a Robert Burns poem; and a name used for a type of Scottish bonnet/hat worn in traditional Scottish dress. A Tam is a colloquial term for hats worn by Rastafarians to cover their dreadlocks. The scotch bonnet - is a potent pepper used in Jamaican cooking; and takes its name for its resemblance to the Tam O Shanty. Mel Gibson has a penchant for wearing Scottish attire in film. In the film Braveheart Mel Gibsons unkempt shoulder-length hair was redolent of Rastafarian dreadlocks. In UK/Canadian military slang, where the Tam O Shanter forms part of military uniform, the name is often abbreviated for communicative expediency to: a TOS. Some commentators perceive Mel Gibson as a short-Tosser - allegedly. Mel Gibsons use of the N-word, may qualify him for a future role as a BBC presenter - and that would be DREAD-ful. As any budding conspiracy theorist would agree - theres just one coincidence too many here . . .
