Melbourne theatre/dance/performance people: would you be interested if I were to host a forum on criticism? The aim would be to cover a bunch of topics such as what kind of criticism is useful for us as artists; coping with criticism; engaging audiences in your feedback process; and engaging in a critical dialogue with other artists. If I did this it would be quite soon as I think it would be good to do this when so many people have just had shows on for Melbourne Fringe. This is something Im incredibly passionate about and something Ive been working on a lot over the last year and a half in particular. Im pretty sure this is where Ill end up doing a PhD so know that you would be helping my own exploration of this topic but I believe it could also be a really interesting thing to for us as a community. I think it could be great to bring the conversations that happen on the internet into a face-to-face forum. Thoughts?
