Members Spend Sunday on the Training Grounds: Early this morning the department turned out to the Lancaster County Fire School in Lampeter, PA for some live fire training. Members went through several evolutions of stretching attack lines and extinguishing fires in the burn building. They also practiced doing searches above the fire on the second floor. A great deal of experience was gained by everyone that participated. Thanks to the County of Lancaster and the Lancaster County Firemans Association, we have two great facilities in our county to be able to expand on our skills and gain valuable knowledge in our trade. While our units were on the training grounds, Rescue 61 (Upper Leacock Fire Company) and Ladder 69 (Hempfield Fire Department) covered our quarters. They answered one call on Pennshire Drive for an odor investigation. Special thanks goes out to our cover companies, the burn technicians, medical staff, the LTFD training committee and our members for putting together an excellent day of training.
