Memo to Black & White Cabs Drivers Customer service is what - TopicsExpress

Memo to Black & White Cabs Drivers Customer service is what Black & White Cabs is all about - whether our customers spend a little or a lot - short fares are as important as long fares. Please make sure you do not refuse a short fare at any time. Our passengers rely on Black & White Cabs - our cab drivers - especially when their safety is potentially at risk. I have received reports of drivers refusing short fares when requested from female passengers at night, particularly in the city and Valley districts. This behaviour is to cease immediately. I refer you to the Black & White Cabs driver handbook, Part 7 ‘For the Driver’ on page 55. Point four of your list of responsibilities as a taxi driver prescribes the following: A Driver of a taxi must not refuse a hiring for a destination that is within either – a) The taxi service area for which the taxi is licensed, or b) 40 kilometres of the pick-up point However, a driver may refuse a hiring if they reasonably believe that the passenger: a) Will be unable to pay the fare upon reaching the destination or; b) Poses a reasonable risk to themselves, the driver or the other passengers Above all else, I expect you will do the right thing, and not give our customers a reason to choose legal or illegal competitors.
