Memo to Simon Gagne: My condolences. Hang em up. No, Im not saying this to be a dick. Im saying this because youve played less than 100 games across three rosters in the last four years. Youve reached the point where your health, and the health and wellbeing of your family, are superseding what you can give to the game. And thats fine. We all reach similar points in our lives. Youre there now. Its okay to walk away from the game- nobodys going to be mad at you. In fact, given the sequence of events, Id take that as a sign that life is telling you its time. That it has been telling you its time to move on for a while. Best wishes for you and your family in the future, no matter where that road takes you. But you dont have to come to the rink anymore.
