Memorial Day. Vietnam. As tears well in my eyes, I remember my hero as a boy, Bobby Bried. He lived over there in the house north across the street from Jackson School on the corner. He looked kind of like James Dean, and his smile was worth millions. He was the embodiment of All-American. He was a great soldier, wounded twice and went back for a third time. He was always rubbing his hand on my crew cut when we were together, affectionately. He had a great brother, Bill, loving parents Dutch (a war hero in WW2) and awesome mom, Ella, my moms BFF, and a bassett named Reggie. March 21, 67 changed all of us forever. Life without Bobby has been much less. Below is a list from our city. Thanks, guys,so much.WAUKEGAN, ILLINOIS: CPL CRAIG ARLEN BAUER SP4 ROBERT ALLAN BRIED SP5 WALTER WILLIAM BROWN PFC DAVID E BURKES PFC PETER JOSEPH CANELAKES SSG STEEN BRUCE FOSTER PFC JERRY GENE GATLIN 1LT DENNIS GONZALEZ PFC PATRICK JAMES HARRIS SP4 STEPHEN GERE KELLY LTJG DANIEL MC CARTHY MANN SGT ERHARDT WILLIAM MATHIESEN SP4 EMMETT DENEEN Mc LELLAN PFC TERRY ALLEN PATTERSON PFC JOHN KENNETH PETERSON SP4 EDWARD STEVEN SACCO LT LELAND CHARLES COOKE SAGE SMSGT BOBBY DAREL SEAY SGT DONALD EUGENE SMRTNIK PFC DAVID EDWARD THAXTON SP4 RICHARD JOHN TURBITT Jr PFC EDDIE LEE WALKER PFC JON ROBERT WOODARD
