Memories - I bought this Jaguar Mark 9 sedan so many years ago and had it for 5 years. My buddies Butch Sworik, Jules Bialkowski, Bob Mckay, Tom Monk, Rick Connell, Jack Christianson, Dave DelPapa and Walt McKechnie loved to take turns driving it on our weekend trips to Port Stanley and Grand Bend with our girlfriends so many decades ago. The summer I started working as a bouncer at The Imperial Hotel in Grand Bend, it was Ronnie Hawkins and The Hawks who filled the tank on many occasions for me to take them on some great memorable trips to London, Toronto and Detroit airports to pick up their celebrity friends who were flying in. One of my buddies, Levon Helm, the Hawks drummer was the wildest driver of the group and loved to take my Jag up to 125 mph on a stretch of I-94 on a couple of our trips to the Detroit airport from Grand Bend. Ricky Danko and the boys after they formed The Band and toured with Bob Dylan, reminded me that Levon would always beat them from Fayetteville, Arkansas where they played at Ronnies The Rockwood Club on their trips to London, Ontario by 6 to 8 hours in his own convertible even though Ronnie and the boys would leave hours ahead of Levon and his girlfriend. These pictures bring back so many memories of the Hawks, the Hollies, Robbie Robertson, David Clayton Thomas, Conway Twitty, Mitch Ryder and his Detroit Wheels and all my friends who enjoyed riding in that wonderful car as much as I did.
