Memories of the past week - Trying to explain to a right-on green person that a mercury discharge lamp doesnt actually discharge mercury all over the place, but is actually a very energy efficient way of lighting a huge area.... Persuading them that their refusal to have any additives in the swimming pool last year and the mass outbreak of cystitis amongst women swimmers was probably connected, and that the evil acids we put in for PH balance was actually powdered lemon juice...... That jumping into a pond with an electric pump running in it is possibly a bad idea...... That if you run down a solar lighting system by leaving it on all day, its unlikely to recharge overnight, so that you can leave it on all day the following day...... Breaking it to someone that, if youre trying to be a traditional woodworker working to vegan principles, then shellac isnt a good choice of finish..... (....and fish skin glue is just what it says on the box.......} If a trip switch keeps going off because you keep adding a large electric cooker to an already overloaded circuit, Gaffa tape on the switch is not the answer..... Turning off a lightbulb on a completely different circuit wont help much either....... Such fun :~) More later...........
